You can book directly through our website by selecting your preferred departure date and filling in your details. A deposit secures your place, with the remaining balance due 60 days before departure. If you'd prefer to speak with someone first, our travel team is happy to help by phone or email.
We require a deposit of 20% of the total trip cost to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your departure date. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Cancellations made more than 60 days before departure receive a full refund of any payments made, minus the deposit. Cancellations between 30–60 days before departure forfeit the deposit. Cancellations within 30 days of departure are non-refundable. We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), as well as bank transfers. All payments are processed securely. We do not store card details on our servers.
Yes — we offer private group departures for families, friend groups, or corporate teams. Private trips can be tailored to your dates, itinerary, and interests. Contact us directly for a quote and we'll put together something special for your group.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for all travellers. Your policy should cover trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and lost or stolen luggage. You'll be asked to confirm you have insurance before your trip departs.
Yes — every single departure we list is guaranteed to run, regardless of how many people have booked. We never cancel a trip because of low numbers. The only exception would be a genuine safety issue or force majeure event outside our control, in which case we offer a full refund or alternative departure.
Our groups are capped at 12 travellers. This keeps the experience intimate, allows access to smaller venues and local spots, and means you spend less time waiting around and more time exploring.
Our trips attract solo travellers, couples, and small groups of friends — typically aged 25–65, though we welcome all ages. Everyone shares a curiosity for genuine travel experiences. Many travellers meet lifelong friends on our trips.
Included: all accommodation, your experience leader throughout, ground transport between destinations, entrance fees to all listed sites, some meals as specified in the itinerary, and any activities noted as included. Not included: international flights to and from the start/end city, travel insurance, personal spending money, optional activities, and meals not listed in the itinerary.
Our Spain and Morocco trips are suitable for most fitness levels. You should be comfortable walking 3–6 km per day on uneven ground, including cobbled streets and medina alleyways. The Sahara desert excursion involves a short camel ride — if you prefer, a 4x4 transfer is always available as an alternative.
Absolutely — solo travellers make up a large proportion of our groups. We offer a solo traveller room supplement or, where possible, can match you with another solo traveller of the same gender to share accommodation and avoid the supplement. Let us know your preference at the time of booking.
Spain is part of the Schengen Area. EU/EEA citizens do not need a visa. Citizens of many other countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK, can visit visa-free for up to 90 days. We recommend checking the current entry requirements for your nationality well in advance of travel, as rules can change.
Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) offer the most pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds at major sites. Summer (July–August) is very hot in Andalusia, often exceeding 40°C. Winter is mild in the south but cooler in Madrid and the north. We run departures year-round and our itineraries are designed to make the most of each season.
Yes — Alhambra tickets are pre-booked and included in your trip price. This is one of the most visited sites in Europe and tickets often sell out weeks in advance. Booking through us guarantees your entry and means you skip the ticket queues entirely.
Spanish (Castilian) is the official national language. Catalan is spoken in Barcelona and the northeast, Basque in the north, and Galician in the northwest. English is widely spoken in tourist areas and hotels. Our experience leaders are fluent in English and will help with any language barriers throughout the trip.
Spain uses the Euro (€). Card payments are widely accepted, including contactless. We recommend carrying a small amount of cash for markets, smaller restaurants, and tips. Airport exchange rates are typically poor — use a local ATM or a fee-free travel card instead.
Citizens of many countries including the USA, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. We recommend checking the latest entry requirements for your nationality before travel. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date.
We travel by coach from Seville to Tarifa, where we board the ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangier. The crossing takes approximately 35 minutes. Ferry tickets are included in your trip price. You will need to pass through both Spanish exit and Moroccan entry border controls — make sure your passport is easily accessible.
Morocco is a welcoming and generally safe destination for tourists. Our experience leaders are experts in navigating medinas and busy market areas, and you'll never be left to find your way alone. As with any destination, normal common sense applies — keep valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings. We monitor all government travel advisories and will communicate any concerns to you before departure.
Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country and modest dress is appreciated, especially when visiting mosques, medinas, and rural areas. We recommend loose-fitting clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Swimwear is fine at hotel pools and beach resorts. A light scarf is a versatile addition to any packing list. Your experience leader will give destination-specific guidance before each stop.
Morocco uses the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). The Dirham is a closed currency, meaning it cannot be purchased outside Morocco. You can exchange cash or withdraw from ATMs on arrival. We recommend withdrawing Dirhams from an ATM in Tangier or Fes rather than exchanging at the border, where rates are less favourable. Keep some small notes for tips and market purchases.
Our desert camp uses traditional-style luxury bivouac tents with proper beds, bedding, and private or shared bathroom facilities nearby. The experience is immersive without being rough — you get the magic of sleeping under the stars in the dunes without sacrificing comfort. Temperatures drop significantly at night in the desert, so we recommend bringing a warm layer regardless of the season.
We recommend drinking bottled or filtered water throughout Morocco. Tap water in cities is technically treated but can cause stomach upsets for travellers unused to it. All our included meals use filtered water. As part of our commitment to reducing plastic waste, we provide refillable water bottles and access to filtered water stations where available.
We send a full packing list with your booking confirmation. As a general guide: comfortable walking shoes, layers for varied temperatures, modest clothing for Morocco, a small daypack, sun protection, and a universal power adapter. For the Sahara, add a warm layer for the night. We recommend packing light — a carry-on sized bag is ideal for most of our itineraries.
No specific vaccinations are required for Spain or Morocco. However, we recommend ensuring your routine vaccinations are up to date (tetanus, hepatitis A, typhoid) and consulting your doctor or a travel health clinic at least 6 weeks before departure. Check current health advisories for the most up-to-date guidance.
Yes — please let us know your dietary requirements at the time of booking. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most allergy requirements at included meals. Morocco in particular has excellent options for plant-based diets. For meals taken independently, your experience leader will always be on hand to help navigate menus and communicate with restaurants.
Both Spain and Morocco use the Type C and Type F (Europlug) sockets, with a standard voltage of 220–230V. UK travellers will need an adapter; US and Canadian travellers will need both an adapter and a voltage converter for non-dual-voltage devices. Most modern phones, laptops, and cameras are dual-voltage — check the label on your charger.
WiFi is available at all hotels and riads on our itineraries. Coverage in the Sahara desert camp is limited by nature — we'd encourage you to embrace the digital detox for one night. Mobile data roaming policies vary by country and network — check with your provider before travel, or consider picking up a local SIM card.
Tipping is customary in both Spain and Morocco, though not obligatory. In Spain, rounding up a restaurant bill or leaving a small tip (5–10%) is appreciated. In Morocco, tipping is a more integral part of the local economy — a small tip for guides, drivers, riad staff, and porters is warmly received. Your experience leader will give guidance on local customs at each destination.
